How NOT to make chocolate pancakes

Twin Sister and I craved chocolate chip pancakes last night for dinner. We thought it would be a great time to make them ourselves, and that part was exactly true.

Discovering we didn't actually have chocolate chips, but having peanut butter chips instead, we opted for chocolate flavored pancakes with peanut butter chips. We envisioned pancakes that would taste like cookies.

Oddly enough, our first mistake was looking for a recipe. We found one online which is not even worth linking for you because no one else in the whole world needs to make that recipe! They turned out so strange; rubbery, somewhat jello-like, sort of resembling cooked chocolate pudding. They were a disaster.

In hindsight we realized the best method would probably be to make regular pancakes, and add cocoa powder and some extra sugar to offset its bitterness.

The toppings, however, we had just right: more peanut butter, bananas, syrup, shredded coconut, and whipped cream.

More importantly, the company and the memory can't be beat.

  1. Love it! Adventures in baking, especially with a sister, are the best! Too bad they weren't delicious, but at least you'll have the joke together!
